EMT Call Taker / Dispatcher (Communications Department)

Assist Ambulance, a New York City EMS agency, is seeking EMTs to join its Communications Department as a Call Taker/Dispatcher Trainee. The position is located at 4420 Farragut Road, Brooklyn, NY 11203. This role involves high-volume call-taking for both non-emergency medical transports and emergency calls from a wide variety of medical facilities and partners, including skilled rehab facilities, hospitals, long-term care centers, and urgent care centers. Duties also include assisting with daily operations by coordinating crew members, buses, supplies, and equipment. The employer offers a full range of emergency medical and transportation services throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Scheduling for this position is currently to be determined based on applications. Typical duties for a dispatcher include monitoring call queues, dispatching appropriate units, and maintaining accurate logs.
