Privacy Policy
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Work For You ("we", "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application, website, and related services (the "Service"). It applies in addition to our Terms of Service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, password (stored as a one-way hash), role (job seeker or employer), company name (employers), phone number, resume content (uploaded as PDF and stored in our database), and the text of any chat messages you send through the Service. We also collect technical and usage data such as device model and operating system, push notification tokens (so we can deliver alerts), approximate location (city/state level when you search or apply filters), and analytics events about which features you use.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve the Service — including matching candidates to jobs, scoring resume-to-job compatibility via AI, delivering push notifications, processing payments, detecting fraud and abuse via automated moderation, providing customer support, and complying with legal obligations. We do not use the content of your private chat messages for advertising or to train third-party machine-learning models.
4. How We Share Information
We share information in limited ways: (a) between users when you choose to apply, message, or otherwise interact (an employer who receives your application will see your name, contact information, and resume); (b) with infrastructure providers that host or process data on our behalf, such as our database, push notification gateways (Apple Push Notification Service, Firebase Cloud Messaging, the Expo Push Service), AI processors (Google Gemini), and payment processors (Stripe); (c) when required to comply with a valid legal process; and (d) in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger or acquisition.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
5. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, "CCPA"), grants you the following rights with respect to your personal information:
• Right to Know — the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you over the past 12 months, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it. • Right to Delete — request deletion of personal information we have collected, subject to legal exceptions. • Right to Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information. • Right to Opt Out — of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information; however, if our practices change, a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link will be made available. • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — you may direct us to limit the use of any sensitive personal information collected to that necessary to perform the requested service. • Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any CCPA right.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@work4you.app from the email associated with your account. We will respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days, extendable by 45 additional days when reasonably necessary).
6. Data Retention and Security
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Chat messages are retained for up to twelve (12) months. Push notification tokens are removed when you sign out or when a device reports the token as no longer registered. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within thirty (30) days, except where retention is required by law.
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk and should choose a strong, unique password.
7. Contact and Changes
Questions about this Privacy Policy or requests to exercise CCPA rights should be sent to privacy@work4you.app. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; when we make a material change we will prompt you to acknowledge the new version on your next use of the Service.
